Selling Guidelines
Information to Consider
Before bringing us your books, please consider the list of rules below to see if your books are appropriate for our inventory. This will enable you to weed-out books that we won't buy anyway, and save everyone some time.

Books we Love to See!
- Rare Military History. Particularly World War I.
- Signed First Editions. 1st Edition Fiction by major authors, particularly pre-1950s. Signed and Unsigned rare fiction is welcome.
- Nautical Books. Need we say more?!
- General Inventory. We buy books on every subject under the sun! If the condition is good, we'd love to see your books.
What not to Bring Us
- Condition. This is the most important consideration when deciding what books to bring us. We will never buy books with water/mildew damage, insect/infestations, missing pages, or writing in the books' pages (*bookplates or inscriptions are usually okay). We deal in "Fine Used and Rare Books" not junk.
- No Book Clubs Editions. While we do carry some Book Clubs, we are not interested in carrying them in the future. This is especially true of Book Club Fiction. (*some non-fiction Book Club editions may be of interest)
- Missing Dust Jackets. Did the book originally come with a dust cover? With non-fiction items, we may still be interested, but with fiction, we will only purchase such books if they are extremely rare.
- No Encyclopedia Sets. (ie.Britannica, etc.) We know they cost you a lot of money at one time. However, given the world of computers and the Internet, we simply can't sell them.
- No Readers Digest Condensed Books. Everyone seems to have these things hiding in their attics. Please don't bring them to us. (*Other Readers Digest materials are fine)
- No Ex-Library Books Libraries get rid of great books sometimes... but we can't sell them.
The Bottom Line
If you have some interesting stuff in nice shape, we are happy to take a look. Please phone the store (or send an email) to ensure we are currently buying before bringing in your books. We do not buy over the counter, so you will have to leave your books with us for an evaluation. We will contact you after that with payment for the books we can take, and will return unpurchased items back to you.
If you are still not sure if your books are appropriate email us here to send us a list of your items, or to request more information.
